Materials Management Supervisor Advert

An exciting opportunity as a Materials Management Supervisor is now available in the Supplies dept, working across sites within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust . Under the direction of the Specialist Inventory Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for the supervision of staff that provides the Materials Management service for Leeds Teaching Hospitals. You will ensure that the Trust’s procurement is undertaken in accordance with the organisation’s Best Practice and Financial Standing Instructions and provide a Materials Management service to a designated number of Wards, Theatres and Departments.

You will ensures stock are maintained at the appropriate level using hand held data capture devices, and the receipting and putting away of stock to agreed standards.

You will provide a comprehensive interface for customers who receive a Materials Management service.

You will need to demonstrate excellent organisation skills and good knowledge of systems in order to manage the day to day functions associated with the Trusts computerised inventory control systems and assist in the development of new technology.

The Supplies and Procurement department is made up of approximately 80 staff and the various teams are based throughout the Trust (St James’s University Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary, Chapel Allerton, Seacroft and Warfedale Hospital). The department as a whole consists of the contracting sections for both Clinical and Non-Clinical, e- Procurement, Materials Management (Supply Chain), Scan4Safety and ICT Procurement.

It is essential to provide strong leadership and communication/customer engagement skills. The ability to work both individually and as a team is vital.

This is a full time position 37.5 hours a week Monday-Friday between 8-4pm.

The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
