The Becton Centre for Children and Young People is seeking to recruit suitably experienced and enthusiastic candidates to nursing vacancies.

Sapphire Lodge is an inpatient unit that caters for young people who are experiencing complex mental health, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Sapphire Lodge’s age range covers 13- 18 years. The unit has 14 inpatient beds, and accepts emergency admissions.

We want make sure that every young person with mental ill health is able to maximise their potential for learning and independence, social inclusion and to enjoy a safe, happy family life.

Our teams are multi-disciplinary and comprise of medics, nurses, health care support workers, psychologists, therapists, teachers, admin and support services who are committed to continued development and providing high quality care for young people and families. We offer assessment, care and treatment to help young people experiencing mental health difficulties including, mood, eating disorders, ASD, young people who pose a risk to themselves, or where there is diagnostic uncertainty. You must be person centred, recovery focused and flexible to the needs of the service. We will provide the opportunity to further enhance clinical skills through training and development and regular managerial and clinical supervision.

If a DBS check is required for the post you are applying for any offer of employment will be provisional on a satisfactory DBS check being obtained.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
