Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which will commence in 2021

CONSULTANT LOCUM PHYSICIAN IN RESPIRATORY MEDICINE

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust has a requirement for a Locum Consultant post in Respiratory Medicine within a team of four consultants. The post holder would be expected to undertake medical cover on Ward 17 (Respiratory Ward) and assist in the delivery of OPD clinical sessions in addition to Bronchoscopy or EBUS procedures.

The successful applicant will work alongside the other consultants in providing Respiratory services for the Trust and must be committed to providing high quality care and have wide experience in Respiratory Medicine, General Internal Medicine and Bronchoscopy. Good communication skills and the ability to both lead a team, and to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team are essential.

Other essential criteria for the post includes: possession of Full GMC Registration with a Licence to Practice; Basic Medical Degree (eg MBBS); entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (Proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) European Community Rights or CESR; evidence of Higher Specialist Training in Respiratory Medicine (or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from date of interview); Full MRCP (or equivalent).
