An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, flexible and committed Practitioner, who could be a Nurse, Operating Department Practitioner or Therapist, to join our pain Team. This post is for 30 hours per week.

This post offers a rare and exciting opportunity to join our fully integrated multidisciplinary Pain Team. We have recently made some exciting changes to the working methods within the pain team at NDHT. In line with best practice the pain department has moved to integrate the inpatient nursing team and outpatient based parts of the pain team. This post forms an integral part of this team that that consists of; pain consultants, nurses, physiotherapists, a psychologist, an occupational therapist and our admin team. We are looking for a practitioner; nurse, ODP or therapist with relevant experience and a willingness to embrace new challenges and learn new skills to join the team.

This role with predominantly involve inpatient work however as the team and service develop there may be scope for further development and variety involving both outpatient work and delivery of interventions.

This role involves working closely with the two Band 7 Clinical Nurse specialists as well as providing advice and support to other clinical areas in the trust. As part of the role you will be expected to assist in the education and training of healthcare professionals within the NDHT. Clinical and professional support is available. You will be encouraged to assess your own performance and devise new initiatives to improve safety and quality of pain management. Previous experience of working with advanced analgesic techniques and biopsychosocial pain management is essential. The post requires 3 years post registration experience.
