With up to 75 hours available, an exciting opportunity has become available to be part of a growing, vibrant paediatric team within the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. We are seeking to recruit Registered Nurses (Child), with active RSCN registration, to work within our Paediatric Emergency Department.

We are currently in the process of getting a new paediatric department within our main A&E building. We plan to have a triage room, 3 treatment rooms including a HDU and a safe room to see and assess patients safely. This is a new and exciting opportunity for children’s nurses looking to expand their emergency care knowledge and to be part of a brand new paediatric area. There will be opportunity for career progression and to work within a well-supported team.

You will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate nursing care, providing the prescribed nursing care without supervision. You will also contribute to the development and evaluation of nursing practice within the department and ward area, as well as providing nursing care in accordance with local policies, procedures and guidelines and comply with NMC code of professional conduct.

Applications are invited from highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals who have experience of working as a student nurse or as a qualified staff nurse within the NHS or equivalent.

The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals.

The Trust is committed to safeguarding adults and children therefore if the post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended) the successful candidate(s) will be subject to a criminal records check with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

 

Standard Check: £26 + Administration cost of £4.20 = deducted at £10.20 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 2 months.

 

Enhanced Check: £44 + administration cost of £4.20 = £15.20 deducted from 1st month salary and £11 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
