BAND 7, 1.0 WTE, CAMHS Practitioner Clinical Post in Hammersmith and Fulham Tier 2 CCAMHS [Community CAMHS] Team.


Excellent opportunity for: Clinical Psychologists, Systemic Family Therapists, Counselling Psychologists, Child Psychotherapists, Registered Mental Health Nurses and Social Workers with additional training (e.g. Systemic Family Therapy, CBT IAPT qualifications)


1.0 WTE Fixed Term Post until 31st November 2021.


An exciting opportunity has arisen in Hammersmith and Fulham CAMHS, for a skilled and experienced Band 7 (1.0 WTE) clinician to work in the Community CAMHS team (Tier 2), formerly known as the Primary Work Mental Health Team. CCAMHS offers early intervention for children, young people and their families to help them deal with problems to prevent difficulties from escalating to a point where intervention or other specialist/statutory agencies becomes necessary.

This team is part of a thriving integrated CAMHS service all working from one base in Hammersmith, which has family therapists, specialist child and adolescent nurses, clinical psychologists, child psychotherapists and child psychiatrists.


The post holder will provide specialist mental health assessments and interventions to children (0-18) with emotional wellbeing concerns and support their families as part of a multi-disciplinary CCAMHS team. The post holder will also work autonomously with children providing direct work, consultation and advice to professionals working across multi-agencies and offer training to relevant staff involved in care delivery in universal services. Clinicians will be expected to carry a clinical caseload.


Hammersmith and Fulham CAMHS is a friendly, busy, borough-located service, and operate as part of a wider 3-borough CAMHS service, including Ealing and Hounslow CAMHS, within West London Mental Health Trust. The post holder will receive supervision and close support from their Band 8a professional lead within the CAMHS service and alongside them will be offering a range of therapeutic services to children with emotional wellbeing difficulties linked mental health problems, offering both a clinic based service and also outreach where appropriate in local schools and in client’s homes.


The clinician will build good relationships with the local schools. They may offer some individual work or groups to children, parents or staff and will be able to work with behavioural interventions, to use solution focused therapy or brief therapy i.e. CBT for children with low level mental health needs and to think systemically about the needs of the child in relation to their family and the wider system that they are part of.


We are looking for a skilled clinician who is enthusiastic and hard working, who brings some experience of working with children with emotional wellbeing and linked mental health problems and who wants to work in this field. Disciplines eligible to apply are clinical nurse specialists, clinical psychologists, child psychotherapists and family therapists.

Flu vaccination – what we expect from our staff

At West London we look after patients who are vulnerable. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to the common cold, through to the very severe or even fatal disease.

The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the utmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of the Trust that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust
