Be part of something amazing! Dorset Integrated Urgent Care Services (DIUCS) provides a streamlined urgent care pathway across the county, to help patients access the advice or treatment they need more quickly and the best use of local NHS resources.

Through an innovative and collaborative approach with primary care and Dorset’s NHS Foundation Trusts. It brings together NHS 111, a new clinical assessment service, non-core hour’s primary care, a single point of access for professionals, urgent care treatment centres, minor injuries units and night nursing services. . We are leading the way and establishing new and joined up ways of working right across the Dorset System and we need more clinicians to help us achieve our vision.

Joining us as a Senior Clinical Advisor for Clinical Audit in our Clinical Assessment service (CAS) will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by working for an organisation dedicated to delivering safe, responsive and patient focused service to people requiring healthcare advice and assistance. The NHS 111/CAS is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

As the role of NHS 111 expands nationally we are looking for experienced senior clinicians to join our Integrated Urgent Care Service as telephone triage practitioners based at theNHS 111/CAS Clinical Hub, St. Leonards, Dorset.

You must currently be a registered clinician and an experienced NHS Pathways Clinician and meet the personal specification requirements for this role.

You will be responsible for providing and ensuring a consistently safe, responsive and patient-focused service to those requiring assistance and advice from the Integrated Urgent Care Service. You will work with other healthcare professionals to ensure the patient receives the most appropriate care through your role as a Clinical Auditor reviewing calls, providing clinicians with feedback and providing coaching and support to colleagues. Your primary role will be within the capacity of clinical audit there will also be opportunities and a requirement for you to triage calls from members of the public when required due to operational requirements. This will allow you as a clinical auditor to also keep your triage skills regularly up to date and this will be of great benefit in your audit role. You will manage calls from Healthcare Professionals and support IUC Health Advisors and Clinicians. There is an opportunity to develop within the service into B7 and B8a senior clinical roles.

You will be already experienced with NHS Pathways and will be provided with ongoing development for the Clinical decision support software used for the role. The service operates 24/7 and the postholder will be required to work a range of shifts. All colleagues within the service work collaboratively to cover the increase in demand over the known busy periods, such the festive period and bank holidays.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The DBS levies a charge of £40 and the Trust will recover this cost in instalments from your first 3 salary payments.
