Due to an internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Capital Accountant in the Financial Services Department.

Working alongside the Financial Accountant you will be responsible for maintaining the trust's asset register and be the finance lead on a £20m capital programme.

Main role responsibilities:

• Maintaining the Trust’s Fixed Asset Register

• Accounting for capital additions, depreciation, valuations and disposals

• Capital reporting and returns

• Drawing down PDC

• VAT accounting on capital

• Tax/NI & Pension reconciliations and submissions

• Accounting for the salary sacrifice schemes

• Supporting annual accounts

We are looking for someone who can make a difference in this area - a person with the right skills to actively engage with stakeholders both internal and external across all these areas. You should have excellent analytical, technical and interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritise and manage workload within your team to meet deadlines. This role would ideally suit a part-qualified/qualified accountant who is looking to make their next move into Financial Accounting at a senior level.
