The Nottinghamshire ICS are looking to recruit a core team of vaccinators that will lead the way with administering vaccination’s to the general public of Nottinghamshire.

As a Medical Director/Lead GP for immunisations, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering a safe and effective service for the mass delivery of vaccinations for both influenza (flu) and the COVID-19 vaccine(s). The post holder will undertake a clinical supervisory role, overseeing a team of Seasonal Flu & Pandemic Immunisers.

In particular, the post holder will be responsible for:

• Coordinate the entire mass vaccination centre clinical activity and ensure everything runs smoothly at all times.

• Take responsibility and accountability for the delivery of the vaccination unit’s performance.

• Provide clinical leadership, ensuring that all clinical staff are aligned with the Site and Programme objectives and are working effectively at the highest levels of safety and quality.

• Be the escalation point for the Nursing Manager and Clinical Supervisor.

• Ensure that appropriate systems are in place for the effective delivery of vaccination and patient care.

• Monitor all aspects of vaccination specifications (dosage, storage conditions, storage equipment, shelf life and preparation).

• Provide excellent medical advice to support decision making within the Vaccination centre and be responsible for all the clinical escalation issues.

• Demonstrate a level of interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrable ability to engage staff and stakeholders at all levels.

• Engage and involve senior clinical staff in core business and clinical processes, planning and decision making.

• Efficiently deal with crises, emergencies and contingencies with the lowest level of disruptions.

• Provide and develop a working environment and open culture which fosters high morale and commitment among all staff and promotes their wellbeing and personal development.

• Encourage autonomy and a shared sense of ownership and desire to deliver the highest quality of service to patients.

• Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of the health, safety and security of self and others in work area. Assist in the identification and assessment risks in work activities.

• Oversee local control of infection prevention and control policies and their implementation.

• Practise in accordance with the professional, ethical and legal codes, protocols and guidelines of the centre and nationally.

• Supervise and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the clinical area and a well-maintained department environment.

• Actively promote diversity and sustain relationships that promote dignity, rights and responsibilities. Identify and take action to address discrimination and oppression.

• Ensure that the practice complies with Data Protection/ Confidentiality/ Caldicott principles in addition to Statutory and Regulatory guidelines of the Professional Bodies (NMC, RCN and others).

As this is bank work, you will be able to pick and choose the number of days that you work. Shifts will be available in 6 hour blocks between 8-8pm 7 days a week. Regardless of whether you are available to work 6 hours a week or 40 hours a week we would love to hear from you, any contribution is welcome. You will not be expected to leave your substantive role, in fact it’s an excellent opportunity to compliment it and expand your skill set.

You will be based at one of various sites in either the city of Nottingham, the Mansfield area or going out to Care Homes to vaccinate both Residents and Staff .
