Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust provides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in 2018, extension of a Neonatal Unit and an approved plan to build a brand new, state of the art Emergency Department which will commence in 2021

We provide high quality, friendly and effective community health services from multiple sites covering Walsall. Our multidisciplinary services include rapid response and homebased care, so that those with long term conditions and the frail elderly can remain in their own homes.

Exciting opportunities have arisen to join a fast paced exciting ward within the Division of Medicine and Long Term Conditions Team on Ward 29. A 36 bedded Short Stay Ward is part of the Acute Care Group and supports the managements of patients with acute conditions and a length of stay of 3 days. The ward works particularly close to the Acute Medical Unit and Ambulatory Emergency Care to support admissions through the Emergency Pathway through the Division.

The ward can on a daily basis manage a high take of patients which brings the exciting fast pace to the unit and with a new Matron and Clinical Director recently appointed for the Care Group, exciting opportunities to work in a close team are now available through recruitment.

 

The ward have a rotational system where doctors are rotated between the Acute Medical Unit and Ambulatory Emergency Care. Ward 29 have a high number of specialty patients and doctors coming through its doors on a daily basis. This is the opportunity to developed your skills as a ward clerk and work in a highly professional team. As a ward Clerk you will be supported with educational development and all training needs will be prioritized
