Medical Secretary – Band 3

Part time 22 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Cancer Services Admin Team. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our small but very busy and dedicated Admin Team based in the Woodlands Unit at Hinchingbrooke Hospital.

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to Consultants and their medical team within the Department and also ensuring the provision of an effective service. To support the Senior Medical Secretary with any duties as required.

If you can fulfil the following criteria, you may be interested in joining our Admin team.


  • To act as the first point of contact for consultants and their medical team and action all general enquiries and correspondence
  • To perform all allocated secretarial and administration tasks, including audio typing, filing, photocopying to deadlines as required
  • To ensure cancer and 18 week tracking are up to date.
  • To work flexibly within the department and cover for the Senior Medical Secretary as required. The position requires daily interaction with patients, a variety of colleagues and external healthcare providers. You must therefore be a great communicator and a team player with a determination to provide an efficient services with an ability to work within a team but also to work using own initiative
