England’s first integrated Covid hub is launching in the north east.

Newcastle Hospitals will manage the hub, working closely with Newcastle City Council together with colleagues from, Public Health England, local universities and industry.

The coordination and response centre within the hub brings together information, data and specialist knowledge from the NHS, local councils and other partners to identify patterns of virus spread and support timely, effective management of potential or actual outbreaks.

The are three elements to the CRC:

1. Localising and coordinating our Test-Trace-Contain strategy and resources

2. Localising and coordinating our risk communication & social mobilisation strategy and resources - up to and including locally co-produced “lockdown” measures

3. Maintaining a virtuous circle of better insight, evaluation, learning and improved preparedness/strategy/response

The successful candidate will support the CRC management team to implement and embed CRC initiative across the NE region to respond to the COVID-19 infection.

This will require the post holder to support the CRC and be involved with the development of new profiles and help support the region’s response to the current COVID-19 pandemic

The post holder will be required to have good communication skills and negotiation skills in order to communicate effectively with others, employing skills to motivate, negotiate and influence opinions both from within the CRC and external partners
