We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Business Analyst to join the Informatics Design Team to enable development of our clinical and operational applications and systems as part of the delivery of the Health Board's Digital Strategy. As the Senior Business Analyst enabling Digital Transformation you will need:

  • a track record and educational profile that demonstrates your excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills working with clinical and service operational stakeholders to capture and deliver requirements that will inform system and application design;
  • the ability to work creatively and effectively within a tight knit and very busy Design team and alongside colleagues in Programmes and Projects, Service Management and the broader ICT community in Informatics at ABUHB
  • the ability to deliver high quality products to tight schedules across a variety of different projects at any one time.

This is a 'full-lifecycle' role principally involved in early ideas and innovations, business case development, systems procurement, and programme inception, and additionally providing support for programme and project delivery through into in-service management and eventual decommissioning, as required. The post holder will be experienced in gathering, structuring and managing requirements; structuring and documenting business cases; and working in close collaboration alongside colleagues with complementary subject matter expertise such as functional and data analysis, technical modelling techniques, clinical service engagement and enterprise & solution architecture. While neither a hands-on technical background nor clinical experience is required, strong technical understanding is essential and health sector experience is desirable.

You will be expected to:

  • provide business analysis services to digital based projects and assignments.
  • plan business analysis activities across all phases of such projects and assignments.
  • elicit, define and document stakeholder requirements.
  • manage stakeholder engagement in support of analysis.
  • identify benefits and solution options for consideration
  • identify business change requirements to support implementation of proposed solutions.
  • maintain & develop Business Analysis knowledge and skills and to provide an expert resource for Business Analysis in the Informatics Directorate.
  • manage and mentor more junior members of staff.
