Exciting opportunities have arisen in our busy Trauma Orthopaedic hip fracture unit, for an enthusiastic and dedicated experienced or newly qualified registered nurse, to join our team.

Ward 34 is a dedicated hip unit and trauma ward, specialising in the treatment, and care of patients with fractured neck of femurs and are proud to have established national recognition and reputation focused on our quality services. The successful candidates will join a multi-disciplinary team, recently described as innovative, integrated and efficient, by the British Orthopaedic Association. The work undertaken has been presented both nationally and internationally, showcasing the high standards achieved and maintained, delivering focused care and great patient experience outcomes.

Successful candidates will gain knowledge and experience in trauma care and elective Orthopaedics, as well as elderly medicine and rehabilitation.

We will support you in developing your Orthopaedic skill set through our team of supportive staff and formal education programme, working alongside consultant orthopaedic surgeons, consultant orthogeriatrician, specialist hip fracture nurse, peri-operative nurse practitioners and the wider multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated people with effective communication skills. A position with this directorate offers many opportunities for individuals to develop their clinical skills and ongoing professional development is encouraged and supported.
