Advanced Clinical Practitioner/ Gynaecology Nurse Hysteroscopist


Gynaecology Outpatients Department

University Hospital Lewisham/ Queen Elizabeth Hospital

37.5 hours per week.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within gynaecology outpatients in the Women’s Health Service to support expansion of “One-stop, see and treat services” and development of menstrual disorder services.

The post holder will be able to provide a comprehensive consultation and advice for patients and undertake outpatient hysteroscopy procedures.

The priority gynaecology outpatient’s services are rapidly expanding and this post will be key in helping to offer patients choice in relation to procedures and the treatment of menstrual disorder and the expansion of the current service to ensure waiting times are within targets and within the 18 week pathways.


As an experienced gynaecology nurse it is expected you will have extensive theoretical and practical knowledge and experience of the clinical skills required within modernising gynaecology outpatients.


The ideal candidate would be an experienced Gynaecology Clinical Nurse Specialist possessing the ability to provide professional and clinical leadership and expertise in the speciality with a particular focus on ‘one stop priority gynaecology service’ in conjunction with the lead Gynaecology-Oncology Consultant and his team.

The post holder would be expected to act as a resource for education and clinical expertise in the hospital, including advice and guidance for GP, practice nurses, vetting and triaging referral letters and undertaking virtual telephone clinics.


To work with the priority gynaecology service and facilitate specialist nurse led care for menstrual disorder procedures and one stop clinics including undertaking out patients hysteroscopy.


Gynaecology has recently undergone change within the senior leadership team and with a new Lead Nurse for Women’s and Sexual Health Service in post the department has been working towards strengthening and driving forward the development of progressive gynaecology outpatients department.

We are a dedicated woman’s services offering a high level of care to a large multicultural diverse population across two hospital sites.

An exciting opportunity for a passionate Gynaecology CNS to join the team during a period of service transformation and development to support in play a pivotal role in improving services for women in line with local and national guidelines, in particular with gynaecological oncology services.
