Funded by NHS England, The Office for Life Sciences and NHS Improvement, the West of England Academic Health Science Network exists to accelerate the spread of innovative, evidence-based practice to improve health and care in the West of England. We work with all six acute Trusts, five Clinical Commissioning Groups, five community providers, two mental health Trusts and three universities in the West of England. We also work closely with local businesses, small and medium enterprises, Local Enterprise Partnerships and a range of other academic partners to facilitate the adoption and spread of innovation into health and social care.

We are committed to improving outcomes for patients through improving access to research, applying evidence and ensuring consistency of clinical practice. We run projects working at scale to spread evidence-based quality improvements across the region.

Our highly collaborative network accelerates the scale and pace of delivering consistent good practice across our communities. This work is underpinned by high levels of collaboration with industry to ensure that we are innovative, enhance patient outcomes and drive up wealth in our local economy.

We host the Patient Safety Collaborative for the West of England and manage a wide improvement agenda working across all health care sectors. Personal Assistant to Directors of the West of England AHSN – Band 4


A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented Personal Assistant to join the West of England Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) based in Bristol. The West of England AHSN is part of a vibrant network which strives to put innovation at the heart of healthcare, to benefit patients, save the NHS time and money, and help to grow the local health economy.

You will be part of a diverse and friendly team, helping to deliver exciting leading edge projects and improvements with our NHS partners across Bristol, Bath, North Somerset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire.


Based in South Plaza, Marlborough Street, Bristol, the West of England Academic Health Science Network is looking to appoint a Personal Assistant to support Directors and to work as part of a PA team.


We’re seeking someone with solid experience of administration work, with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office package. You’ll be able have the ability to manage your time effectively and excellent communication skills. You’ll be organised and practical and will enjoy working in a team environment. If you’ve been a PA before that would be helpful, but transferable skills and experience will be considered as full training will be given. We need someone who is comfortable with communicating with people at all levels, and has good attention to detail.
