The BSW Specialist Community Perinatal Mental Health Team is a multi-disciplinary team, which provides support for women who experience serious mental health problems or present with a high risk of relapse during pregnancy and the postnatal period.

We offer assessment, treatment and psychological interventions aimed at treating mental ill health and enhancing the mother infant relationship, where mental health needs have impacted upon this. We provide multiagency training in perinatal mental health to other professionals and agencies working with women in the perinatal period, in addition to offering consultation and advice. The team is able to work alongside women and their families from pregnancy until the infants first birthday.

The Specialist Community Perinatal Team works across BaNES, Swindon and Wiltshire. We have a hub and spoke model - the hub is Chippenham, Wiltshire which is the official base for this role. There is a spoke base in Paulton (BaNES), Swindon and Salisbury. This position is a BSW wide role. Laptop and mobile phone will be provided to facilitate mobile working. Due to Covid 19 there is currently a significant amount of home working to this role.

This is an exciting opportunity for suitably experienced Occupational Therapist to join our passionate team in delivering the above services. You must have experience in working with women in the perinatal period.
