The Role

We have a temporary placement opportunity available for a medical secretary at Salford Royal Hospital. The Medical secretary will be providing the following support to the dermatology team

• To be responsible for the timely typing of all correspondence from the Clinical lead,
• Consultants and his/her technical team including referral letters, clinical reports and letters to
• patients as appropriate or to the management of the service. It will be necessary to work
• to deadlines and be adaptable to last minute changes.
• To assist as directed in the maintenance of the departmental waiting list.
• Handle general enquiries.
• Pulling and tracking case notes as required to support the department.
• To liaise with secretaries/other health care professionals regarding patient referrals
• and investigations.
• To assist in the general maintenance of the patient filing system.
• To assist in the data input of patient information.
• To prepare new patient files

The skills required are:

• Medical Secretarial experience
• Experience in audio typing
• NHS experience

Salford Royal is based at Stott Lane, and it is easily accessible via both car and public transport. There is onsite parking (fees will apply). It has four on site cafes and two restaurants where staff are eligible for a discount. The hospital also has on site shops.
