Healthcare Assistant – Band 3 17 hours

We are looking for a caring and motivated individual to join our hard working and dedicated team at Rugby St Cross. The role of the Haematology Health Care Assistant is to support the Haematology Team to deliver high quality patient care at all times, so you will need to be flexible in your approach and willing to undertake a variety of tasks. This is a patient focused role which includes Venepuncture, chaperoning and assisting patients, basic patient care, and Haematology related admin and clerical duties. You will be required to work flexible hours, to meet the needs of the service. You will be based in the new Haematology & Oncology Unit when it opens in February 2021

The successful candidate will be numerate & literate to at least GCSE level (grade A-C), with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in a healthcare related subject. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors and all members of the team. Previous experience as a Healthcare Support Worker would be advantageous as would venepuncture skills.
