Head of Estates & Facilities Band 8c - full time permanent post

The Trust provides services across Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire, which range from mental health and learning disability services to community services, such as district nursing and health visitors.

An opportunity has arisen for the post of Head of Estates and Facilities on a full time, permanent basis. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Performance, you will have a proven track record in delivering estates and facilities services

The Trust has a strong culture of continuous improvement and as such you will be responsible for leading the service improvement/quality programmes and support wider initiatives around quality improvement.

You will be working closely with the Trusts senior management, as well as liaising with other relevant bodies, such as external advisors, designers, architects and contractors. A background in engineering is preferred but not essential. In addition to your technical skills you will be well versed in developing strong internal relationships with key departments and stakeholders in the Trust.

You will be professionally and operationally accountable for the management of the Estates, Facilities, and Fire Safety Services in the Trust. This includes leading and managing the delivery of all strategic and operational Estates and Facilities functions for the Trust. Strategic functions include the development of the Trust’s estates strategy, oversight of the Trusts capital programme and delivery of associated capital developments. Operational management includes the provision of safe, effective and efficient estates and facilities support services, encompassing teamwork and communication, budget control, performance management, compliance with statute and NHS guidance, and business continuity. The successful applicant will have:

  • Masters level qualification or equivalent or working towards; and a recognised professional qualification and membership of a relevant institute such as IHEEM, IET, CIBSE, CIOB, RICS etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and people skills

  • Negotiation skills for contracted services and teams

  • Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision making

  • Highly motivated with a passion for excellence and innovation
