This post is for the Children's Community Nursing Team, though you may be asked to support other Teams within the Service. We are a small friendly Team working within the Children's Community Nursing Service as part of the Children's Business Unit.

The team look after a wide variety of children with needs ranging from the simple to those with complex health needs, including palliative care. You will be required to support the Team deliver care to these children, and keep them at home and prevent them being admitted to hospital.

Candidates must have excellent organisational skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be required to use general office systems, word process documents; we use S1 for our patient record.

You will be required to have good communication skills as a large proportion of your time you will be speaking the nursing team, parents, other professionals and with outside agencies. You will also require GCSE English and Maths Level A to C, Level 2 IT Skills or equivalent experience, and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.

If you are successful in being offered a position which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The level of check required is dependent upon the position that you have applied for. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost from your salary. There will be no charge if you are enrolled in the DBS Update Service.
