1 Permenent & 1 Fixed-Term (12 Months) 23 hours per week.

We are looking for an experienced Band 5/6 Adult Registered Nurse with strong clinical & managerial skills, enthusiasm and motivation who is dedicated to provide visible clinical leadership to join our team as a band 6 deputy ward manager.

The successful candidate will be supported to develop their leadership ability and management skills and will lead by example to deliver excellence in patient care.

Ward 18 is a shining example of the “tomorrows ward” and is developing the workforce with trainee associate practitioners and trainee nursing associates. Ward 18 also has a dedicated discharge sister attached to the ward for discharge support.

We are looking for a Level 1 Adult Registered Nurse with excellent communication and organisational skills who enjoys working in a fast paced ever-changing environment. You will be expected to be able to work as part of the clinical team and lead that team to deliver the highest possible standards of care whilst managing staff care, development and the administration work associated with a ward area.

Ward 18 cares predominantly for acute orthopaedic injuries requiring surgical intervention but experience of frail older patients would be also desirable. Ward 18 takes admissions directly from the emergency department. A flexible approach to the patient caseload is essential and would suit a candidate who has a surgical and medical background

A desire to improve the patient experience and work towards assessment and accreditation will be an essential attribute required in the successful candidate

Knowledge of bed and staffing co-ordination would be a desirable skill but not essential.

Supported by the ward sister and team you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous management of the ward and contributing to high standards of care delivery through your professional accountability innovative thinking and clear vision for ward 18 and patient care.
