We provide care and treatment for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow, delivering services in the community (at home, in GP surgeries, care homes), hospital, specialist clinics and forensic (secure) units.

Our physical healthcare services include intermediate care services in Ealing as part of the Community Independence Service partnership.

Our national, specialist and forensic services include:

  • Medium secure services on the St Bernard’s Hospital site in Ealing
  • Services for people with complex and severe personality disorder at the Cassel Hospital in Richmond
  • High secure services at Broadmoor Hospital in Berkshire

We are a teaching Trust with a growing research portfolio, working with academic and industry partners.

The Hounslow IAPT service is seeking to recruit a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to join our Step 2 team. We have a well-established Step 2 team consisting of PWPs, a senior PWP, trainee PWPs and Assistant Psychologists.

Our Step 2 team provides a range of brief cognitive behavioural-based interventions such as guided self-help (face-to-face, telephone and online), workshops and groups (including co-facilitation of step 3 groups), in addition to telephone and face-to-face assessments. The successful candidate may also be supported to conduct small scale audits/research relevant to the service and take on ‘champion/lead’ roles within the team.

We are seeking to recruit an individual who would like the opportunity to join a welcoming team with a strong clinical ethos, and who wants to make a significant contribution to the community of Hounslow.

Our plans over the coming months include increasing self-referrals to our service, particularly of clients from BME backgrounds, older adults and people with long-term health conditions, facilitate workshops to community groups and build on the use of our online platform and modules we offer. We are committed to the development of our staff and have a flexible and tailored CPD programme.

We would particularly welcome applications from clinicians who are able to offer therapy in Punjabi, Urdu or Hindi, with experience or interest in delivering online interventions, or who have a particular interest in working with long-term health conditions such as diabetes or cardiac problems.

The Hounslow IAPT service is provided by West London NHS Trust in partnership with Anchor Counselling and Twining Enterprise. The service operates from a main hub in Isleworth, with clinics also being run from sites in Feltham, Brentford, Chiswick, Hounslow Central and Hounslow West. Successful applicants would be expected to work across the borough and be available to work one evening per week.

Flu vaccination – what we expect from our staff

At West London we look after patients who are vulnerable. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to the common cold, through to the very severe or even fatal disease.

The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the utmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of the Trust that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
