  • For posts on PHE Civil Service terms and conditions, on appointment the salary is normally the minimum point (see salary range above). Any moves across the Civil Service may have implications on your ability to carry on claiming childcare vouchers.

Given the nature of the work of PHE, as a Category 1 department, you may be required in an emergency, if deemed a necessity, to redeploy to another role at short notice. You may also be required to work at any other location, within reasonable travelling distance of your permanent home address, in line with the provisions set out in your contract of employment.


Grade AfC Band 7 £38,890 to £44,503 per annum (pro rata)

CS SEO National £36,329 to £42,481 per annum (pro rata)

Background

The PHE South West Region health protection team is rapidly expanding to meet its COVID-19 contact tracing and outbreak management responsibilities in complex setting e.g. schools and care homes. PHE South West are currently seeking to recruit a large number of fixed term positions to support this growth.

If you’re successful in applying, you will be part of the team contributing to the day to day provision of the COVID-19 test and trace health protection function. You will use specialist knowledge and skills to undertake case management, liaise with, and provide health protection advice and response across a range of partner organisations, professionals and the public.

Successful candidates will undergo a programme of on-going training, development and education to build on existing knowledge and develop skills.

All IT equipment needed to undertake the work will be provided, but it is essential that applicants have access to reliable broadband facilities.
