Do you thrive in a busy environment that is passionate about patient care ?

Do you enjoy being part of change and improvement ?

Are you keen to develop your skills in a supportive environment?

If the above applies to you then we welcome you to apply to be a registered nurse on ward 36 where you will find a positive, supportive and friendly team.

The ward have recently undertaken a change in function, in response to COVID, and is currently operating as the admission and assessment ward for the Unit.

The model is working well to support COVID secure environments across our unit by creating a single point for admissions.

The ward, in brief, provides a 72 hour assessment period during which COVID status is ascertained and a treatment plan or discharge plan is developed.

The plan identifies if a short admission and discharge can be achieved directly from Ward 36 or if a transfer to a treatment ward is required for, meaning that the flow is very fast-paced, yet rewarding.

The applicant is required to be dynamic, organised, enthusiastic and motivated with evidence of continued professional development.

You will need excellent communication and assessment skills and be able to use your initiative and keep calm in a busy and unpredictable environment.

Staff that have completed their preceptorship will have the opportunity to enrol in our Band 5-6 competency-based programme, with a view to becoming a Band 6 senior staff nurse once completed - an excellent development opportunity unique to our acute inpatient areas.

The successful candidate will join a nurturing team providing individualised recovery focused assessment and care planning for adults of working age.

The ward is mixed sex and comprises of 15 beds.

The team thrives on excellent care delivery and are passionate about improving patient outcomes.

We are proud to have a multi-disciplinary team that works closely together, including our designate consultant, clinical lead, occupational therapist, nursing associate, registered nurses and our fantastic team of nursing assistants.

The post will provide an ideal opportunity to extend your skill base in acute care with opportunities to become involved in a variety of work streams including recruitment, service and staff development and audit.

This role will require you to work across a 24/7 rota which will include night duties; flexible working requests will be considered.

The post holder will receive regular supervision and have access to relevant training courses to support your personal and professional development.
