Oxleas is a successful and well respected Foundation Trust offering a wide range of health and social care services in south east London, specialising in mental health, community health and learning disability services. The Trust have developed a comprehensive portfolio of services in community and hospital settings across Bexley, Greenwich and Bromley.
The Estates & Facilities Directorate is responsible for management of estate, facilities and capital developments for the Trust, which delivers services from over 60 properties, and in addition took ownership of Queen Mary’s Hospital in October 2013, acting as landlord to a range of service providers, and embarking on a major re-development of the site.
The Trust requires a Senior Project Manager to undertake a variety of capital developments in all 3 boroughs. Typically the value of schemes is in the region of £20,000 to £11m and includes the management of projects, in-house and via external consultants, from feasibility studies through to commissioning. You will also be expected to design, tender and manage the smaller projects independently without reverting to Consultants.
The post requires solid experience of developing briefs and designs, compiling project documentation, managing complex projects, contract administration, budget control and commissioning; all undertaken whilst maintaining close communication with clinical staff and stakeholders. You will be required to manage a number of projects simultaneously. You will also be required to assist in the Trusts Estates Strategy and utilisation program, including organising moves, closing buildings and setting up hot desking offices.
A construction related degree or membership of a professional body is preferred but this may not be necessary if relevant experience can be demonstrated. Mobility is essential so you will hold a full driving licence, and the post holder will be based at either Trust HQ - Pinewood House or Queen Mary’s Hospital.
