Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Applications are invited for a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specific interest in Spine. The job plan includes weekly elective operating and a trauma list, fracture and elective clinics. The consultant will take part on the consultant on call rota. The position will be based at West Hertfordshire NHS Trust (Watford General Hospital and St. Albans CityHospital). Applicants will be expected to provide a full range of surgery for Trauma and Spinal and it is essential that the applicant has successfully completed fellowship training in Trauma and Spine Surgery

West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust was formed by the amalgamation of Watford, St Albans & Hemel Hempstead Hospitals Trust on 1 April 2000. The Trust provides health services for approximately 650,000 people who live in the five local authority areas of Dacorum, Hertsmere, St Albans, Three Rivers and Watford. Overall the population is relatively affluent, but there are pockets of health inequalities, particularly among people living in the South West of the county.
