Portsmouth is a vibrant and diverse city, and our innovative and proactive CAMHS team are looking for colleagues who are passionate and dedicated to improve the outcomes of the young people in our city.
CAMHS Liaison is providing a unique opportunity to be involved in a new way of working and delivering a children’s specialist mental health service in a medical setting. This service will be one of few in the country who aim to assess and meet the needs of young people within a timely manner, based in an acute hospital. It aims to reduce wait times and avoidable admissions, and improve young people’s experiences in these environments. The clinical delivery of this service will function 7 days a week, with shifts covering hours of 9am – 12 midnight.
The post holder will be part of this new exciting service which will involve assessing the mental health needs of young people who attend the local acute hospital following self harm or a mental health need. They will beconfident in engaging young people, and their families whilstassessing and managing the risks identified. They will be dynamic, passionate and flexible in order to deliver a high standard mental health service in a medical setting.
The successful candidate will have a core qualification/ registration, i.e. RMN, RN, RNLD, OT, Social Work, CBT Therapist, and have a level of experience in working with young people, preferably in a mental health setting.
