NHS Professionals manages the temporary work placement (bank) at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust, and we are looking for a Porter to support the Portering department

Rotherham Hospital which is situated just two miles south of Rotherham town centre, within proximity to the M1 and M18 motorways, six miles from Sheffield and close to Doncaster.

Location: Rotherham General Hospital, Rotherham S60 2UD

Department: Portering

Pay rate: £9.21 per hour

Duration: ASAP- April 2020 TBC

Hours of Work: 7 on & 7 off Rota'd shifts to cover 24 hour service

Responsibilities will cover several areas such as:

  • To provide an effective service for the Portering Department within the Rotherham General Hospital, escorting patients between Wards and departments.  
  • Transporting equipment, medical records, mail, meals, specimens,linen, waste and moving furniture. The post holder will also hold a full UK driving Licenceto drive the Trust vehicle when required.
  • Out of Hours working under their own volition i.e. prioritising their own jobs, and taking direction from the 221 site manager.
