The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of district hospital services to our local community and surrounding area. These include emergency department services, outpatient clinics, inpatient services and maternity and children’s services. We are in an exciting period of our development and are playing a full role within the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Integrated Care System. Our governance and assurance systems and processes need to match our ambition.

The Director of Corporate Affairs is a critical and will take the lead in ensuring we have in place appropriate policies and systems to deliver effective corporate governance to enable the Trust to comply with its legal, constitutional and regulatory requirements and to manage risk effectively. The post holder will act as Trust Secretary and will support the Chair by managing relationships between the Trust, its membership and Governors, while supporting the Chair and Chief Executive in managing wider external relationships in the local community and nationally

We are looking for considerable experience of working at, or close to, Board level within a complex organisation, including experience of dealing with senior external stakeholders, and strong understanding of governance systems and frameworks. You will need to be an excellent communicator, someone who can demonstrate and uphold the Trust’s values; you will need sound judgement, discretion, influencing skills and the ability to maintain confidence and establish highly effective relationships among a range of internal and external stakeholders.

The cost of undertaking a DBS disclosure will be met by the individual. The Trust will meet the initial costs of the disclosure, and you can choose to have this deducted from either your first month’s salary or in instalments over your first 3 months’ salary. The current price of a standard check is £23 and an enhanced check is £40.

New starters to the NHS will start at the bottom of the advertised salary band.
