Our purpose built Critical Care Unit has state of the art equipment, Ward 18 has 10 Intensive care Beds (ITU) & 12 High Dependency beds (HDU) all of which are used flexibly to the service and patient needs. We require an enthusiastic, motivated, dynamic and highly skilled Clinical Educator to lead the education and training within ward 18 ITU/HDU . This is a fabulous opportunity and you will be involved in delivering an extremely high standard of care whilst providing support, training and education to other nurses within the team.

role responsibilities –

  • Responsible for devising, development and the teaching of training programmes as a major job responsibility
  • Provides both formal and informal support for individuals within Clinical environment and the Trust
  • Act as a resource to support the Professional Development of other staff
  • Foster a culture of lifelong learning and continuous professional development
  • Participate in the corporate development of nursing/midwifery through contributing to the wider organisational agenda
  • To continue to develop, facilitate and participate in the teaching of a competency and knowledge based induction programme for new staff to the Clinical environment
  • Contribute to the development of competency based educational packs for nursing staff within the clinical environment.
  • Be aware of the local training requirements, and responsible for the preparation, support, appropriate training requirements, supervision and assessment of pre and post registration staff within the Trust
  • Identify training needs for staff and be responsible for orientation, induction, preceptorship and on-going programmes of training and education for all staff within clinical environment

Depending upon evidence of skills and experience and educational qualifications , the successful candidate would e appointed to a Band 6 or a band 7.
