This is an exciting opportunity to join the Leeds Teaching Hospitals Technical Information Team as Data Warehouse Technical Lead.

We are looking for an experienced ETL developer with a passion for big data and an ambition to improve our services.

The Trust produces vast amounts of data from the billions of transactions it performs every year across £1 billion of activity a year; leveraging the value of this data is fundamental for the success of our strategy. Your Data Warehouse and ETL experience will ensure we can deliver at pace and with confidence in the security, accuracy and performance of our Data Warehouse.

The post holder will be responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of data warehouse content for specified business services within the Trust. They will use their expertise in data management to drive the efficient delivery of business intelligence solutions and reporting outputs.

Working with business analysts and developers they will be involved in the full development lifecycle from stakeholder engagement; requirement gathering and data model design; meta data and data quality definition capture; database design, development and data model integration; which will lead into data repository solution implementation and deployment.

The post holder will provide expert advice to ensure that data / insight requirements are included as part of all systems developments. They will also provide leadership in transitioning from local reporting mechanisms to using advanced business intelligence tools. More broadly, the post holder will be taking forward the Digital Information & Solutions vision by delivering strategic data solutions for the Trust that facilitate the provision of accurate and reliable information.

The role reports to a Technical Information Manager who leads a team of passionate data experts responsible for the development and deployment of modern data analytics solutions for the Trust.

If you are offered a position, you may be required to undertake a DBS. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48 or Standard £30) from your salary over a 3 month period (including Internal staff). You will also be required to participate in the DBS Update Service and pay the £13 cost per year. This is a condition of your employment. DBS checks for volunteers are free.
