Medicines Management / Dispensary Technician based at Leicester Royal Infirmary

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, forward thinking and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Medicine at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.

Our Pharmacy Teams consist of Medicines Management Assistants, Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists.

The post will contribute to both Medicines Management and Dispensary services at Leicester Royal Infirmary, particularly focusing on comprehensive and timely medicines reconciliation and safe, effective discharge. Our ward based Medicines Management Technicians are based on our admissions and medical wards and our Discharge Lounge. Working with the wider MDT and Pharmacy services you will be essential in ensuring our patients get the right medicines at the right time. The dispensary duties have a leadership, supervisory focus in addition to contributing to the core service

Particularly key to the role will be multi-disciplinary engagement, patient counselling, provision of medicines information and the daily supervision of our Rotational Pharmacy Technicians and our Medicines Management Assistants.

We are looking for progressive and proactive Pharmacy Technicians with strong problem solving skills to join our friendly team. Applicants must be self-motivated and organised. You will be able to work effectively alone and as part of a team, and will contribute to the process of service development and innovation by your own initiative and enthusiasm.

You will need to act as an advocate for pharmacy services and a guardian of medicines safety. You must be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal and relationship building skills. We are committed to developing advanced practitioner skills through further education and training.
