Reporting to the Deputy Head of EPRR and Specialist Practice, the HART Manager is a senior, high profile local leader for the Trust. The HART Manager is the senior role model for the HART Unit. The HART Manager will provide strong leadership in an open, supportive culture, will shape and set priorities and objectives and be accountable for all aspects of HART business across the Exeter based HART Unit. The HART Manager has line management responsibility for six HART Team Leaders, HART Training Manager and HART Support Officer but is responsible for the health and wellbeing of all our people working within the HART Unit.

The HART Manager will provide the Head of Operations - EPRR and Specialist Practice and Deputy Head of Specialist Practice with support, acting with integrity and professionalism at all times. The HART Manager is a full member of the EPRR and Specialist Practice Department senior management team and as such will be expected to participate fully and constructively in all aspects of Departmental business.

The HART Manager is responsible and accountable for ensuring, that the HART National Interoperable Capability Standards are delivered and compliance maintained, the role is also responsible for quality assurance and improvement across the Department. Ensuring integration of all HART activity into the core function of the Trust whilst providing visible, empowering leadership and direction to operational HART staff and his/her supporting management team. In close collaboration with the Bristol HART Manager ensure that the practices of both HART Units are aligned both in the operational and domestic settings. Build and maintain effective partnerships within the wider health community, the other emergency services and local, regional and national partners.

This role is required to participate in an on-call rota providing tactical advice.

You will be educated to graduated level, or be able to demonstrate significant leadership experience at a senior level.  You will have ambulance EPRR, HART or operational experience and excellent communication skills to build relationships with others.
