The James Paget Hospital is looking for enthusiastic, motivated pharmacists to join our friendly pharmacy team as a rotational pharmacist. As a member of the clinical pharmacy team you will participate in our Band 6 clinical pharmacy rotations covering selected wards and performing tasks such as clinical screening, medicines reconciliation, counselling patients on their medicines, and preparing for discharge.

You will support the discharge process to ensure patients leave hospital with the correct medicines and accurate information is sent to the patient’s GP. You will also support the hospital dispensary, ensuring that inpatient and outpatient prescriptions are screened for safety and appropriateness, as well as developing competency in providing pharmaceutical support to our aseptic production unit.

The successful candidate will be a pharmacist looking to build their skills within the hospital pharmacy sector. Experience would be beneficial but not essential, as training and support will be provided for the right candidate. This role includes on-call and weekend duties.
