Band 6 Infection Prevention and Control Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Infection Prevention and Control Team at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation trust as a Band 6 Infection Prevention and Control Nurse.

We are looking for an experienced nurse that can work autonomously and as part of the small team to monitor and support the improvement of the quality of infection prevention and control in the trust. The post holder must have good communications and organisational skills and the ability to influence others and be able to manage change.

The successful candidate will work both autonomously and as part of the IPC team striving to minimise risk from healthcare associated infection. They will work as a highly motivated member of the team to assist in containing and reducing the incidence of infection across the Trust, through risk assessment, surveillance, audit, intervention and education.

The role is a collaborative one, working with individuals and groups, across professional and organisational boundaries. They will identify, investigate and monitor infections and hazardous practices/procedures, contribute to the investigation and control of outbreaks of infection, and develop and deliver educational programmes to multi-disciplinary staff.
