Solent NHS Trust in collaboration with Dementia UK, is looking to recruit an exceptional registered nurse with a passion for, and experience of, providing relationship-centred dementia care to help lead our Admiral Nursing team in Southampton. The team are looking for a motivated and innovative Clinical Lead to work alongside the current Admiral Nurse Clinical Lead as a job share during the uncertain and challenging times ahead.

Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who work with and support families and carers of people with dementia. As an Admiral Nurse within Solent, you will be based in Southampton and will lead, deliver and coordinate relationship-centred dementia care in order to improve the experience of carers/families affected by dementia. As well as providing specialist one-to-one support, expert guidance and practical solutions for families, a key part of the role will be to support the best practice of Solent staff and work alongside local charities and organisations to develop a sustainable support network for families from diagnosis to end of life.


Employed by the Trust, you will be supported by Dementia UK to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse in dementia care through Practice Development, Clinical Supervision, and Continuing Professional Development.
The successful applicant will be NMC registered, with significant post-registration clinical experience of working with people with dementia and supporting their carers/supporters in different settings, along with formal knowledge of dementia acquired through clinical post-graduate training/education.
