Ward 32 is a busy elective Interventional Cardiology Ward that caters for patients undergoing complex procedures in the Glenfield Angiocatheter Suite. We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking and highly motivated individual to join our team.

This position primarily demands an attention to detail in safe preparation of patients pre and post surgery which can include many aspects. Obviously phlebotomy and cannulation skill is expected to be a large part of the role, however this also includes responsibilities for equipment checking, audit and many other safety aspects.

As a member of the Ward 32 team you will work closely with cardiology medical team, Cardiac Angiocatheter Suite and the Clinical Decisions Unit.

You will need to have previous experience of working as a health care assistant within UHL and must essentially have the UHL Care Certificate.

You should also have a desire to progress with a career in health care. Skills in Venepuncture, Cannulation and ECG recording would be an advantage although relevant training will be provided to enhance skills to a specified level of competence. This is a unique opportunity to work in a demanding and challenging environment.

You must be committed to high standards of care, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be flexible regarding shifts although the requirement is that you are able to work 5 days per week in order to cover the needs of the service. (This may at times include a weekend day)
