An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced PA to join the Southampton Centre for Biomedical Research at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS).

The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the activities of the SCBR Matrons and CRF Manager. Previous experience of working at a high level PA role is essential.

We are looking for a team player with excellent communication and organisational skills, who is flexible in their approach to work. The jobholder will need to operate independently in a diverse and interesting office environment, using their own initiative to prioritise workload, pre-empt problems, and maintain confidentiality. The ability to organise meetings, coordinate agendas and briefing papers and take minutes together with efficient diary management are essential to this post.

This post will involve working Monday to Friday 9-5pm total of 37.5 hours a week.


  • Provide comprehensive and confidential assistance to the SCBR matrons and CRF Manager.
  • Organise and prioritise diary appointments.
  • Arrange meetings, prepare and draft meeting agendas.
  • Attend meetings and take minutes as required.
  • To organise /assist in the planning of departmental events.


  • Someone with previous experience as a personal assistant.
  • To have an excellent level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • To be able to multitask at a high level.
  • Someone who is organised and detail orientated.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of an effective team.
