An exciting opportunity has arisen within the East Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities (CTPLD).

We are developing a new role of “Senior Clinical Health Assistant – Dementia” to work as part of the CTPLD but with a particular emphasis on supporting individuals with dementia.

The post holder will work closely and under the supervision and direct management of the dementia coordinator and ultimately under the team manager. The role will involve direct clinical input working under supervision of professional nurses and therapists to deliver good quality health care.

The role will also involve liaising with other agencies and providers as well as family members. There will also be an expectation that the post holder assists in the delivery of training to a wide audience.

As this is a community job, and the post holder will be expected to visit the service users in their own homes across East Surrey, the post holder will be a driver with a clean licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes. The team has 2 bases, one in Redhill and one in Epsom. There will be an expectation that that the post holder will work from both bases

The post holder will have had 3 years minimum experience of working directly with people with a learning disability and be currently working at a band 3 level. The post holder will also have had previous experience of working within a community team delivering health care and managing a caseload

As this is a new role, we are looking to offer a 12-month fixed term opportunity or secondment if you are already an SABP employee. Please note that all salaries shown are based on whole time of 37.5 hours per week for non-medical roles and 40 hours per week for medical roles, part time roles are pro-rated accordingly.
