The place to work in pathology

We are looking for top talent to join the UK’s leading and fastest growing pathology company – a scientific organisation with a clinical purpose.

Working in partnership with our service partners, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals, King’s College Hospital and Bedford NHS Hospital Trusts, we aim to set the standard for the future of pathology.

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a dynamic, innovative and highly motivated scientist to join our dedicated senior Cancer Genetics management team at the London South Genomic Laboratory Hub (LSGLH) based at Guy’s Hospital. As the LSGLH hub laboratory and designated provider of adult solid tumour testing for the GLH, the post holder will take on a key leadership role both in the Viapath cancer genetics service at Guy’s, and as the LSGLH Scientific Lead for Cancer Genomics.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that LSGLH remains at the forefront of clinical science in solid tumour genomic diagnostics and will coordinate and supervise translational research to develop new diagnostic platforms and automated processes to ensure that LSGLH meets future requirements of the NHSE National Test Directory for adult solid tumours.

The post holder will provide expert scientific advice on technical, scientific and clinical aspects of the Cancer Genomics Service testing strategy and, dependent on experience, the clinical interpretation and actionability of variants.

The postholder will support the Cancer Genetics Operational Lead in day to day running of the Cancer Genomics service and will manage staff within the team in order to deliver high quality genomics tests for patients across London South, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

Working with bioinformatics and clinical colleagues, the post holder will play a key role at national and local level attending working and advisory groups and providing advice to Genomics England and professional bodies.

Interviews will be held 10th December 2020.
