An exciting opportunity has arisen for aBand 6 clinician to join our new fibromyalgia service hosted by Solent MSK Physiotherapy & Pain/Rheumatology service. This is a 6 month contract to undertake a pilot service with the aspiration that this service and post/s will become substantive.

Based at the Adelaide Centre in the Southampton the successful post holder/s will work as part of a team of therapists providing education and exercise interventions for fibromyalgia patients, primarily in a group setting. The provisional days the service will operate are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There is an expectation that post holders will be involved in supporting the additional background research that will be taking place to review the effectiveness and outcomes of the patient programs. There will also be the opportunity to provide some education sessions to our community partners about fibromyalgia and the new pathway.

Previous working experience within MSK physiotherapy or as a clinician in rheumatology services is desirable but specific work with fibromyalgia patients is not essential. A 2 day training course for successful candidates to understand the program delivery will be held in early 2021. All successful candidates would need to be available to attend these training days.

Solent MSK Service prides itself on its high quality patient care and service delivery. There is extensive CPD support and opportunities within the service and our Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists are at the forefront of delivering training and pathway development.
