This is an amazing opportunity for you to be an important part of an exciting new project at Sheffield Childrens Hospital called the Active Hospital Project funded by Public Health England.

We are looking for someone suitably qualified to develop and deliver practical exercise sessions on the wards or in outpatients with single patients or groups of children &young people and implement initiatives such as the 'daily mile’, PE sessions, and ‘active ward’ activities.

Also we need someone who will support the development and implementation of a working model that seeks to improve the physical activity, exercise tolerance and engagement of children & young people.

The post holder will be based in the Physiotherapy service and work alongside the project manager, professional leads, clinical teams and outside agencies such as schools and sports centres to support children & young people and their families to adopt more healthy and physical lifestyles.

In line with other NHS Organisations in the Yorkshire and Humber Region a successful candidate appointed into a post within this Trust will be required to pay the DBS check fee (£45). This is customarily payable over 4 months as a salary deduction once employed by the Trust. If you receive a conditional offer letter, complete your DBS application and later withdraw from the recruitment process, an invoice will be raised via the Trust's finance department to recoup the outlay.
