An opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Staff Nurse within the Pre-Assessment Department at James Paget University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard working candidate who will adopt the Trust Values into their practice and will be passionate about providing the best possible service to our patients.

You will be expected to run clinics and manage a case load of patients daily. You will need to have a flexible approach to working, excellent communication and documentation skills and be willing to continuously learn & expand your knowledge.

Pre-Operative assessment plays a vital role in the appropriate assessment, preparation and optimization of all adult patients to ensure they are prepared both physically, mentally and socially prior to their elective surgery. Pre Assessment is essential in ensuring a reduction in avoidable cancellations of surgical procedures based on medical reasons. For the experienced registered nurse, this is a key role, carrying a level of responsibility along with a demanding workload and great opportunity. If you are able to work autonomously and also work well as a member of a friendly, enthusiastic, well motivated and knowledgeable team then this could be the challenge you are looking for.
