**CALLING ALL GRADUATE PODIATRISTS **

Solent NHS Podiatry team has an excellent opportunity for you to put your University acquired skills into practice and become the dynamic Podiatrist you want to be.

Full time, permanent band 5 posts have become available in the Solent Podiatry Team. The successful applicants will be provided with mentorship through our well established preceptorship programme. You will also be given an extensive rotation through our services in High risk foot management involving MDT within the acute hospital settings, biomechanics, nail surgery and community clinics including domiciliary caseloads.

Our team meets regularly as a whole and as localities for Podiatry target meetings where we receive training and share ideas and developments for the service. We pride ourselves on being a supportive team where we encourage each other, provide advice and support in ensuring we deliver the optimal patient care. This is achieved by minimizing lone working, regular peer review with mentors and action learning sets with colleagues.

Why Solent NHS Podiatry?

Solent is a forward thinking trust and our trust shared values (HEART – honesty, everyone counts, accountable, respectable and team work) support the development of a strong working culture and guides and inspires all of our actions and decisions. They enable us to be better at what we do and create a great place for our staff to work. Our last CQC rating of ‘outstanding’ for care and ‘good’ for the other domains depict these.

The Solent Podiatry Team live in a vibrant part of the country with access to the city and the beautiful coast and countryside. There are good access and links to the local airports. We have strong links with Southampton University for extended learning opportunities and are key in providing clinical learning for the BSC Podiatry undergraduate clinical placements.

We are fortunate to have 2 key multichair sites at the Adelaide health Centre in Southampton and the St Marys hospital campus in Portsmouth. These are both high specification sites with various services offering care delivery.

Why Solent NHS Trust?

Solent NHS Podiatry Service delivers care for 5CCG’s throughout the Hampshire area. Solent NHS Podiatry services covers a large geographic area and is divided into a West locality in Southampton covering approximately 15 sites from the New forest and across Southampton city centre to the east of the city. The East locality is Portsmouth based but stretches from Fareham across the city to the Petersfield borders. The position would be based in one or both of these localities. Due to the rural geographical locations of our locality any applicant must have appropriate transport to get to any of these locations.

We have a very knowledgeable and experienced team who are leaders nationally and are pivotal in ensuring that their knowledge and support is shared with the team. From an early stage following training and competency sign off you will be issuing antibiotics via PGD’s and requesting x-ray’s directly for patients to ensure that they receive prompt and timely care for their acute conditions.

We have an active research team and the department is regularly involved in audit activity to shape the future of our services which we would actively encourage you to become involved in. This will be part of your preceptorship Programme that you will be enrolled in alongside side other newly qualified staff from all health disciplines within Solent.
