Community Learning Disability Physiotherapist - Leicester

Are you an experienced, self-motivated Physiotherapist looking for an opportunity to work in the Community? If you can say “Yes”, then read on – we want to hear from you! We are looking for a Physiotherapist who is keen to gain experience in Adult Learning Disabilities and who wishes to develop their clinical skills and specialise in this area.

The Role:

Whilst a full Job and Person specification is attached to this vacancy, key elements include (but aren't limited to):

  • To provide assessment and treatment to patients with learning disabilities across 3 clinical physiotherapy pathways: mobility/falls; postural management and rehabilitation.

  • This role includes many aspects of physiotherapy including postural management, neuro –rehabilitation, orthopaedics and general rehabilitation, making this a varied and interesting role.

  • Take a lead and work in partnership with other members of the multidisciplinary team in the delivery of holistic healthcare within the clinical care pathways.

  • Provide advice on the Physiotherapy management/health needs to clients, parents, carers, Health and Social Service Professionals, advocates etc.

  • Work closely with the client and all involved in their care to incorporate Physiotherapy management into daily activities. To enable client to optimise their functional abilities

    The successful applicant:

  • Should have broad based clinical experience, problem solving skills, excellent communication and an interest in this client group.

  • Should have an interest developing the service to meet the needs of local communities.

  • Should be self-disciplined and be able to manage your own caseload, using evidence based decision making to prioritise your work

    We are a forward thinking pro-active team that is committed to the provision of evidence-based practice and personal and professional development.

    There is experienced support (a band 7 Team Leader) and the opportunity to be involved in student education, clinical audit and research.
