Part Time 15 hours Support Secretary in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the oral and maxillofacial surgery department for
an experienced support secretary with knowledge of medical terminology to support a very busy oral and maxillofacial team. The individual should possessa good telephone manner and be able to work on their own initiative.

Excellent communication and customer care skills are essential as well as the necessity to maintain confidentiality at all times.

The main duties of the role will be to support the secretaries in their day to day role by the typing of clinic letters, reports or other media. You will also be required to arrange and re-arrange appointments as necessary. A working knowledge of the RTT care pathway for coding would be advantageous but not a requirement as appropriate training will be provided.

Applicants must have a good education, secretarial skills, sound IT knowledge and experience, with competency in Microsoft Office packages being essential. The ability to communicate effectively with patients who may experience communication difficulties is an essential requirement of the role. Also required is a methodical and flexible approach to work, good team working skills, the willingness to perform repetitive tasks accurately and to remain calm under pressure
