Deputy Ward Manager

Salary: Band 6 (£30,401 - £37,267) pa dependent on experience

Location: Acute Inpatient & PICU - Michael Carlisle Centre & Longley Centre

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (however flexible working opportunities available)

We are excited to offer Band 6 Senior Nurse / Deputy Ward Manager nursing roles across our adult acute mental health wards and Psychiatric Intensive Care ward based across the Longley Centre, part of the Northern General Hospital site and Michael Carlisle Centre, at Nether Edge.

We are looking for enthusiastic nurse leaders to join team SHSC, to take an active leadership role in the day to day delivery of patient care. You will be supported by the wider multi-disciplinary team to deliver high quality and safe care to our patients. You will be committed to service improvement, working as part of the team to drive delivery of best practice and optimising person-centred, therapeutic care.

You will be able to articulate and role model high quality clinical standards, using your skills to mentor and coach our newly qualified nurse colleagues. In addition, you will act as a supervisor for other registered nurses and support staff. You will need to be flexible and adaptable, working alongside our family of inpatient services. The roles will require out of hours working across 7 days a week, which will attract enhancement payments.

It’s an exciting time to be joining team SHSC as we begin our journey to transform our inpatient services. We are making improvements to our existing inpatient environments at the same time as redeveloping the Longley Centre to bring together all of our community crisis and acute inpatient ward environments under one roof. It will be a purpose-built using the latest advances and best practice to ensure that patients receive the very best care, in the best possible environments.
