Band 7 Physiotherapy Team Leader for Medicine and Senior Adults Medical Services

Full time ( Fixed term cover till January 2022)

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Specialist Physiotherapist to join our fantastic Medical Therapies team at Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Surrey.

The successful candidate will be supported by the Clinical Lead for Physio and Occupational Therapy in Medicine and work within the integrated medical therapies team, clinically supporting and managing the physiotherapy team and students whilst closely working with the Occupational Therapy team. The integrated therapy team members work closely together to achieve improved outcomes and provide high quality care across five medical wards covering General Medicine, Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Endocrinology and Senior Adults Medical services.

This post requires expert clinical knowledge and experience in the management of unwell patients with acute and chronic problems. The caseload is varied and complex. You will participate in the supervision and development of junior rotational physiotherapists and assistant staff. The successful candidate will provide clinical and operational leadership within the multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent team working, communication skills, enthusiasm and drive.

We are looking for someone who will relish the opportunities to contribute, facilitate, design and lead service developments, innovations and audit within the Medical Therapies Team. The post holder will need to balance this with the day to day operational running and governance of a fast paced, busy team. We welcome applicants who have experience at a senior level in a wide range of clinical conditions in a variety of settings in older people, acute medicine, respiratory medicine and neurology.

Ashford and St. Peter’s Hospital’s NHS Foundation Trust has undergone changes to its therapies management structure over the last couple of years and has been redesigned to promote more integrated therapy working, a more formal supervision process and a robust in-house training programme, which provides opportunity to further develop your clinical and leadership skills.
