An opportunity has arisen for a Medical Administration Apprentice at The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust within the Surgery, Urology and Vascular directorate

This particular role involves

  1. To deal with telephone enquiries ensuring all messages are passed to staff in a timely manner.

    2. To maintain up to date filing systems both manual and computerised.

    3. To deal with all incoming/outgoing post, ensuring it is dealt with in a timely manner.

    4. Maintain electronic diaries/calendars for other members of staff.

    5. Booking rooms/venues as required.

    6. Use of general office equipment e.g. photocopier, fax, shredder.

    7. Data inputting e.g. spreadsheets, databases, PowerPoint, etc.

    8. Take notes for staff meetings as required.

    9. To communicate with other members of staff, colleagues and service users across the Trust relevant to the role e.g. verbal, electronically, telephone etc.

    10. Use IT systems to produce e-mails, letters, documents, reports and presentations.

    11. To participate in appropriate study and personal development opportunities.

    12. To comply with both the Trust and departmental policies and procedures.

    13. There may also be a requirement to undertake other similar duties as part of this post in order to provide a quality service. These will be consistent with the level of responsibilities outlined above.

    14. This job description may be reviewed from time to time in light of developments and may be amended in consultation with the post holder.

Apprenticeship Programme details:

  • Apprenticeship standard - Business Administration, Level 3;
  • The AMSPAR Level 3 Certificate in Medical Terminology
  • Training provider will be Dudley College;
  • The programme will be on a fixed term contract for 18 months;
  • Salary will be paid at National Apprentice wage, £4.15 per hour with a yearly salary of £8114.75 for the first 12 months. For the final 6 months, this will change to minimum wage for age.

Eligibility

Candidates must have:

  • Maths and English - GCSE grade C or above, grade 4 to 9, or equivalent in Functional Skills at level 2.

Please Note: you will need to provide original certificates as proof of these qualifications.

Candidates who hold the following qualifications are not eligible:

  • A degree / degree level qualification or higher in Business Administration or similar related subject
  • NVQ/QCF / Apprenticeship Standard Level 3 or higher in Business Administration
  • The AMSPAR level 3 Certificate in Medical Terminology

Candidates who have previously started or part completed a Business Administration Level 3 Apprenticeship or the AMSPAR certificate, must declare this on their application.
